When might you use a database program your future?
Classwork:
Nothing new. Just continue with the Database lessons in the IT Business Center program.

Thur. Dec. 4th
Bellwork:In a database, what is a query? What is a form? What is a report?
Classwork:
Open your Beaver Mtn. database. Make one report, make one form, make one query. Save each of them.
Next, continue with the Database skills unit. Complete at least one more lesson.
Be sure to check the study guide for the semester exam. It is wrtten in green on Wednesday's entry.

Wed. Dec 3rd
Bellwork:
What are fields, what are records?
Classwork:
Complete Lesson 2 of Data base skills on the IT Business Center.
If finished, start lesson 3 of database skills.

Study guide for the semester exam in Business Technology:
The semester test will consist of 18 short answer and one word answer questions
There will be at least 35 multiple choice, fill in the blank questions.
There will be at least one spreadsheet you will complete.
There will be one Data base to make.
Below are key terms you should review in order to do your best work.
Spreadsheets, workbooks, Ethics, profit, loss, revenue, costs, E-Learning, Distance Education, the advantages/disadvantages of using computers, examples of hardware, computer applications.
Unit of storage on a computer.
How you can organize files on a computer.
What are templates and the use of templates.
What spreadsheets are used for.
Acceptable use policies…what are they?
Electronic news groups.
Web browser.
Firewalls.
Know what telecommunications are
Freeware, shareware.
Know what ethics is and be able to give examples
Know what Data Bases are used for and how to work with data bases.


Tuesday, Dec 2nd
Bellwork:
What is a database Program
Classwork:
First, Open the IT Business Center program, log in, then go to the Database unit and complete lesson 1. It should take about 30 minutes.
Then, I will make a transition, and we will continue with Access, the data base program
Open your access file from yesterday.
Open the Beaver Mountain Simulation and click on Address report.
Watch the class lesson, then complete the assignment.

Monday, Dec. 1st
Bellwork: None. Just get used to your new seating assignment.
Classwork:
Today we will start a new type of a program called a Data Base. Open Microsoft Access on your computer and open our class website and go to the Beaver Mountain Bike Simulation. Open the simulation called customer data base.
Watch the class presentation, then make a table like the one discussed in class.
