First, Open the IT Business Center program, log in, then go to the Database unit and complete lesson 1. It should take about 30 minutes.
Then, I will make a transition, and we will continue with Access, the data base program
Open your access file from yesterday.
Open the Beaver Mountain Simulation and click on Address report.
Watch the class lesson, then complete the assignment.

Today we will start a new type of a program called a Data Base. Open Microsoft Access on your computer and open our class website and go to the Beaver Mountain Bike Simulation. Open the simulation called customer data base.
Watch the class presentation, then make a table like the one discussed in class.

1. Open all assignments that I will grade and minimize them.(See yesterdays assignments for a list of what you should have.) I will come around and ask to see them for a grade.
2. Then, take the Excel quiz. It is located on our class website, to the right. The label is Excel Quiz. Once finished, show Mr. C or Mr. F your score. Then, if needed, complete the tutorial.

Bellwork:
When you are using a spreadsheet program, what is the purpose of charts like you made yesterday in class?
Classwork:
1. Today, go to the Beaver Mtn. Website and continue with the next activity called "Budget-What if" This is a spreadsheet like you completed on Wednesday, but the data has changed. Remember to use formulas to do all calculations. Check with your neighbor if you get stuck. When you are finished with making the chart, save it in your folder as What if spreadsheet
2. Go to the IT Business Center (curriculum viewer icon) and go to your Spreadsheet unit, and continue with the lessons. You should be finished with lesson 3 and start on lesson 4.

On a spreadsheet, what are formulas used for?
Classwork:
First, open the the Florence High School Website, click on Gopher Staff, click on CTE, then Click on Mr. Cochran. You will see a document listed as Excel Spreadsheet. Open that, then following class instructions, make two charts. One for Yearly Income, one for Yearly expensese. Save your file as Beaver Mtn. Charts.
Then, Be sure you have finished the Beaver Mountain activity, Yearly Budget.
If you finish this, then go to the IT Business Center, Lesson 3. Work carefully and complete each page completely.
Wed. Nov 19th
Bellwork: On spreadsheets, tell me what the difference is between columns, rows and cells.
Classwork:
Let's continue on the IT Bus. Center 21 lessons. today, finish lesson 2. It should take you about 30 minutes.
Then, open Beaver Mtn. Bike Tours, and start on the next activity which is a spread sheet called Yearly Budget and start on that. I will give you a class presentation on this.

Open IT Business Center 21 (Curriculum Viewer Icon on your desktop), log in and go to Spreadsheet Skills. First watch the 2 page overview, then complete lesson #1 on Spreadsheet Skills (27 pages) You should be able to finish this in one class period.

On your assignment today, you will be writing about a 10k bike ride. How many miles is 10 kilometers?
Classwork:
Open the Beaver Mountain Bike Tour website (link in on the right side of this page) then open the link labeled Tour Card. Follow the directions and make a folding card that has all the information. When finished, show Mr. C your finished card. Save it as Tour Card in your Beaver Mountain Folder.
If finished before the class is over, you may start on the next IT Business Center Unit, called Web Research.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 3-7
Bellwork: Have the past three weeks of bellwork open and ready to grade.
To get full credit, you need the past three weeks of entries (Oct 20th-Nov 6th) and it's all on one Word document labeled Bellwork. It is saved on your student drive.
Classwork: Today you need to finish your Company letter head project. Remember to save it in your folder labeled Beaver Mountain, or BMBT on your student drive. At this point you should have two documents completed: Logo and company letter head.

Open Microsoft PowerPoint Save your file as First Job_Your name_class (remember; to save in your student drive and in my documents)
Make a total of 13 slides
1.Make a title slide: First Job Interviews and add your name and class
2. Make two column slides and label it Introduction. Then write a brief introduction describing each person you interviewed
3-11: Make two column slides for each question asked. Write the question from the interview sheet as the heading, then write each persons answer in a complete sentence.
You might write the answers in the first person because you were talking with them. When you finish with the questions from the interview sheet, you will have 11 slides: A title slide, and introduction slide and nine question slides.
Slide 12: What are some things you learned from the interviews of these two people?
Slide 13: Make a slide that labeled "Tips for first jobs"
