Bellwork: What are you doing for Halloween?
Classwork: There are two assignments due today
1. Ethics 123 sheet. (see Monday, Oct 27th for details) Remember, all answers should be in complete sentences and use a different color than the worksheet questions.
2. The Bottom line - Plato assignment. (See Thursday oct 30th for details.)

Bellwork: What do you like and not like about the IT Business Center assignments so far? List at least one like and dislike
Classwork:
Check out the new website for us to use! It's on Plato. Log into your account and look for the Business Technology Class. Start on the new assignment of Business Basics. It is called The Bottom Line I will give you a written assignment once you have worked on this for awhile.
Be sure you have finished Ethics 123. I will start grading that today.

Bellwork: You are becoming an expert on online Ethics. When is it ok to download music or video without paying for it?
Classwork: If you have finished with lessons 1, 2, 3 on Ethics, continue with lesson 4 on Ethics. Also, be sure to finish any other assignments that are due to me. Check your grade sheet on the wall to see if you have missing assignments. Late work can still get 50% credit, and that is better than 0 credit!

Classwork:
Be prepared to show me your completed work on the First Job interviews PowerPoint. Ethics chapter 1 should be done, and if you have time, work on Chapter 2 in the Ethics unit.

Today, finish Ethics, chapter 1. It should be 31 pages in length. Let Mr. C know when you have finished it.

Today, start on a new Business Center 21 assignment: Ethics. It is 31 pages. Today finish the first 16 pages. When you get to the page you need to print, stop there and bookmark that page.

Monday, Oct. 20th
Bellwork: Write briefly about something important you learned from your first job interview sheets that are due today.
Classwork:
Get out your First Job interviews for credit and to use in class today.
If you don't have your interview sheets get a completed one from Mr. C so you can complete part II of the assignment.
First Job Interviews Part II
Open Microsoft PowerPoint Save your file as First Job_Your name_class (remember; to save in your student drive and in my documents)
Make a total of 13 slides
1.Make a title slide: First Job Interviews and add your name and class
2. Make two column slides and label it Introduction. Then write a brief introduction describing each person you interviewed
3-11: Make two column slides for each question asked. Write the question from the interview sheet as the heading, then write each persons answer in a complete sentence.
You might write the answers in the first person because you were talking with them. When you finish with the questions from the interview sheet, you will have 11 slides: A title slide, and introduction slide and nine question slides.
Slide 12: What are some things you learned from the interviews of these two people?
Slide 13: Make a slide that labeled "Tips for first jobs"

then write out several tips that you learned about getting your first job
After you have finished writing you may use slide designs and animation to make your presentation better. You should only get a start today, this assignment will be due Thursday.

Bellwork: A potential employer has you fill out a job application, then asks if you have a resume. What is a resume?
Classwork: Today, view the brief presentation on IT Business Center 21, then start on lesson 3, Using Computers. Plan to spend about 30 minutes on this activity, or finish half of it, then transition to your assignment on Possible Careers. (See Tuesday for details) Note: Don't forget your Homework Assignment on First Job Interviews. That is due on Monday, Oct 20th.

Bellwork:
If you see an job opening and it lists " Benefits included", what does the term benefits mean? Give three or four examples of benefits that might come with a job.

Tuesday, October 14th
Bellwork: How many hours per week is a regular full time job? (assuming no overtime)
Classwork:
Your first two lessons and the test on IT Business center were due yesterday, for full credit. Finish this if you haven't already.
Then, if you haven't finished your powerpoint presentation, do so. It is due Wednesday. Do you want to present your show to the class? Remember, each slide, (except the title slides) should have one full paragraph (5 sentences) in order to receive full credit.
Monday, October 13th
Bellwork: Do you think you would like to have a part time job while in high school. Describe what it might be.
Classwork: 1. Family Interviews: Listen to the class lecture, then review the Family Interviews sheet. It is due at the start of class next Monday, October 20th. 2. Continue with IT Business Center you should complete lesson 2 and the chapter test at the end of the chapter. Due by the end of class.
3. Continue working on your PowerPoint presentation on Now and the Future. This will be due Wednesday, Oct 15th. ( See Wednesday, Oct. 8th for details on the project)

Class Assignments Oct 6th-10th
In your own words, write the class rules and procedures and consequences for your Business Technology Class.Use Microsoft Word and save your work as rules_your name_ class period. Take home October newsletter, have your parents sign it, including a phone number, then return on Tuesday, to receive credit. (100% credit on Tuesday, 90% on Wednesday... and so on.

Today we will start on a new program, called AES. I will introduce it to you, and you need to log in with a loging and password that you will need to remember, so write it down, or make a note on your files on your computer. Complete the first assignment.

Directions: Open the Power Point program, If you are working with a partner, choose slides that have two columns, one column for you and one column for your partner If your are working alone, just use the single column slides.

If you have finished Lesson 1 on It Center 21 Start Lesson 2.
It is 39 pages in length so take your time and at least two days to complete it.
After you have worked on the It 21 for 30 minutes or so, transition to your Power Point presentation, on Now and the Future. Continue working on it. You don’t need to finish this week.
